As a lifelong NE Ohio resident, husband of one lovely wife, and father of two wonderful girls, I have been cooking for people my whole life. My mother taught me early that “if you like to eat something, you had better learn to cook it.” As a sales manager for a manufacturing company, I have traveled extensively throughout the Southern United States. I have eaten barbeque at every opportunity in Texas, the Carolinas, Georgia, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, and even New York, Minnesota and Ohio!

Each year I make a pilgrimage to Texas to learn from people I consider to be true Barbeque Pitmasters. From these folks I learned the truly American art of slow cooking meat with wood-smoke and time. Now, while still a Sales Manager in the “real world,” I have become a Pitmaster myself and offer my expertise and that of countless other generations for your event.

 

Real Pit BBQ Co.
We are incorporated, insured and licensed as a temporary kitchen. We operate a clean and sanitary business! We are in business to cater your event with authentic, slow-cooked barbeque made the old fashioned way. Because we are a small company and BBQ is a time consuming process (and we work in Northeast Ohio!), we cater a limited number of events per year as the season dictates. We bring our temporary kitchen to your site and provide the spectacle, romance, aroma and taste of America to your backyard. This usually requires us to be there for approx. 16-24 hours.

Texas Hottie II
Our Pit / Cooker, Texas Hottie II, was built by renowned Texas Pit builder David Klose. We consider his pits to be the finest available. She is approx. 16 ft. in total length. She has a capacity to cook over 500 lbs. of meat at a time! We have three 60,000 btu burners for fire starting in the firebox and cooking on the nose-end. We cook all of our food on her! She also has a large log-rack, dual mags and electric brakes. We are very proud of her!

 

 

 


Competition
We cook competitively as “The Northcoast BBQ Society” and have won several awards for our BBQ in numerous State Championship competitions.
